VIT2AL
(Virtual Initiatives for Technology, Teaching and Learning) will
help UW institutions enhance their efforts in support of PK-12 teachers
and administrators so that practicing teachers can select, adapt,
develop and assess instructional and information technologies to
enhance student performance and achievement.
Professional development
projects which emphasize long term, multi-year staff development
and learning activities will be developed and implemented collaboratively
by UW System faculty and staff and PK-12 teachers. Faculty from
disciplines throughout UW institutions will participate in program
development and delivery.
VIT2AL's
Long and Short Term Goals include:
 |
Develop innovative
professional development programs for practicing teachers to
integrate technology into the curriculum. |
 |
Modify and adapt
model programs to regional needs. |
 |
Disseminate information
about projects to communicate achievements and challenges. |
 |
Establish long-term
collaborations and partnerships between UW institutions and
PK-12 schools to facilitate communication, program coordination
and resource sharing. |
 |
Produce information
resources that are electronically accessible in user-friendly
formats. |
